The CA-4000 4K fiber transmission camera adapter enables live 4K capture, utilizing a Super 35mm 4K sensor for live events such as sports, concerts, and studio programming. When attached to the PMW-F55 docking interface, the Super 35mm 4K CMOS sensor camera transforms into a 4K live system camera with High Frame Rate (HFR) capabilities and innovative HD cut-out functionality.
4K Migration Path for HDC Series Camera Customers
The 4K live system integrates seamlessly with the same range of Remote Control Panels (RCPs) and Master Setup Units (MSUs) as the current HDC Series system cameras, providing a future-proof migration path for customers. The system operates over standard SMPTE fiber cables for distances up to 2,000 meters.
Supports HDCU-2000/2500 CCU Operation
The CA4000 works with the BPU4000 Baseband Processor Unit to route 4K signals from the PMW-F55 camera. With the BPU4000, the 4K/HD image quality is comparable to that of the HDC Series system cameras and allows for HDCU-2000/2500 Camera Control Unit (CCU) operation. The camera supports High Frame Rate (HFR) recordings up to 240 frames per second at 1080/50p.
The CA4000 provides the same interface as the HDC-2500 for the camera operator, including RET, INTERCOM, and MENU controls. The BPU4000 can be powered independently, without the need for the HDC-2000/2500 CCU. Both 4K output and down-converted HD output are available from the BPU4000.
